220mm, and that's the point

At 220mm tall, the Trio Mini goes where a full size insulated bottle won't.

Into the front triangle of a small or full suspension mountain bike frame, where a 260mm bottle fouls the shock. Into a running belt or the back pocket of a vest. Into a padel bag, a ski pack or a golf bag sleeve without taking the room you need for everything else.

Same insulation as the full size Trio. 40mm shorter and 30g lighter.

Insulated, not just small

Insulated, not just small

Plenty of compact bottles are compact because they gave up the insulation. This one didn't.

The Trio Mini uses the same lightweight double wall vacuum construction as the full size Trio, 25% lighter and using 25% less material than traditional insulated metal bottles. Cold for 12 hours and more.

Ice in the morning, still cold at the end of the day.

Grip and cage fit

Grip and cage fit

The silicone exterior on coloured bottles does two jobs. It grips when your hands are wet or gloved, and it stops the rattle in a cage over rough ground.

Universal cage fit, so it drops into the cage you already have.

It's going to get scratched

It's going to get scratched

Straight answer: a coated metal bottle in a metal cage picks up marks. Ours does. The coating scuffs where the cage grips it, and over a season it'll look like something you've used.

That's a deliberate trade. The coating is what gives you the grip and the quiet, and we'd rather it wore than swap it for something slippery and loud.

Serious fun, less waste. The point of a bottle like this is that you buy one instead of getting through a drawer full of plastic ones.

Recyclable stainless steel, no plastic lining, and replaceable parts so a worn lid doesn't mean a new bottle.

Looking after it

Rinse after each use. Every part separates, including the nozzle, so give it a full strip down every few weeks or after anything sugary.

FAQs

Will it fit a small mountain bike frame?

That's what it's for. At 220mm tall it clears tight front triangles and short seat tubes where a 260mm bottle fouls the shock or the frame.

Will it fit a running belt or vest?

Yes. It's the size to look at for handheld carriers, most belt holsters and vest back pockets.

Is it insulated, or did you drop that to make it smaller?

Fully insulated. Same double wall vacuum construction as the full size Trio, cold for 12 hours and more.

How long does 500ml last?

Around an hour of steady effort for most people, less in heat. If you routinely go longer without a refill, the 621ml Trio or 740ml Duo carry more.

What's the difference between this and the full size Trio?

40mm shorter, 30g lighter, 121ml less. Everything else is the same.

Will the coating scratch?

In a metal cage, over time, yes. The coating is what gives you the grip and the quiet.

How do I clean it?

Take it apart. Everything separates including the nozzle, so nothing is trapped behind a sealed valve.

I love them. Worth every penny. I'm never going back to regular plastic bottles. My biggest fear now is dropping them while out riding. They are too beautiful to dent!

Love the stylish Bivos Scott! We agree they're beautiful, but hopefully this doesn't stop you from taking them out on great adventures 😆! Cheers to never going back to plastic bottles of the past! - Bivo Crew

Bivo water bottles are excellent. The water flows easily, which is nice while riding or working out. My only complaint is that dirt gets in the bottles while biking. I have 5 Bivo bottles and none of the stores that I’ve been to sell the caps. They are available on their website for $5 plus shipping. I think for a $40-$50 water bottle it should include dust caps! Seriously, if you plan on biking with these bottles you need dust caps unless you like gritty water of course.

Hey Robin,
Thanks for the review! We're so happy you love your Bivo bottles and the high flow. We hear you that you'd be interested in a dirt cap and you wish they were included with the bottles. We appreciate this feedback! We have opted to not include one with every bottle, as we've also heard from others that they wouldn't use a dirt cap, so we don't want them to be wasted. However, we will discuss your comments with the team. Thanks for sharing! Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you. From, the Bivo team - thirsty@drinkbivo.com

Everything about these bottles is amazing. They look so cool. They feel so good in your hands. They work better than old school bicycle water bottles, plus the water tastes so much better. The packaging is beautiful and so well designed. Everything was so thought through. The low profile screws so the bottle didn't get scratched. The offering of a small bottle to fit small road bikes. The ability to really clean them. The authenticity of the product is obvious. You can tell that this was designed by people who love the outdoors, who are athletes and adventurers. You can also tell that they respect and care about the environment. At first I was a little hesitant because of the price, but these bottles are worth the money. I have already recommended them to so many of my friends. I love the way they look on my bike. As a designer, if I don't like the way something looks, even if it works really well, I won't want it. I specifically bought these for biking, but I now I use them all the time, even when I'm not riding. I am one happy customer. Finally, I kept the awesome box and beautiful paper that the bottles were wrapped in. They will be perfect for wrapping Christmas presents.

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you so much for this glowing review! Those bottles sure look sleek on that bike. I'm so happy to hear that not only do the bottles look good, but they perform just as well. Good performance and easy cleaning is super important to us, and it sounds like the bottle delivered! We've been super intentional with every aspect of design for both our bottles and packaging, so thank you for the appreciation. Cheers, Bivo Crew

At first the bottle was very good but then it was leaking out of the seam whenever my wife drank. FYI! When I investigated I found that the grab-tab on the lid gasket seal had folded over to the opposite side when the lid was screwed on, thus, causing it to leak. Other than that, the item is excellent. One question, why couldn’t the lid also be stainless to make the item more plastic proof. That would seal the deal for me.

Hi Robert,

We appreciate you taking the time to review our bottles! I'm happy to hear you think the bottle is excellent. I'm sorry to hear that there was some difficulty with the sealing ring at one point but I'm glad you were able to find the solution! A stainless steel lid would be an amazing addition to our bottles and something we love to strive towards to have less plastic. Thank you again for the feedback, if you have any other questions or concerns please reach out to Thirsty@drinkbivo.com, we're happy to help! Cheers, Team Bivo

The wait is over! Finally, I found an insulated with easy drinking. The only problem is a rattle at the end of the ride due to ice cubes when I'm running out of water. The silicone finish doen't bother me since I'm using a Fidlock hloder.

Thanks for the excellent review! We're so happy you're pleased with your insulated Bivo :) Keep enjoying that cold, cold water! Cheers, from the Bivo team

The flow of water is so generous! Great for hiking and cycling. I bought one for my station at work as well. My water stays cool all day. Great bottle!!

Thank you for the great review! Those bottles look beautiful on your bike and I bet they look great at your work station, too. Thanks for the support! -Team Bivo

I received a Bivo bottle after the "Budgie Smuggler" ride at the Tour Down Under this year and after a solid month of usage I offer a review - the thing is AWESOME - easily the best water bottle I have used!

I raced the RADL GRVL event and it kept the water cold the entire time on course well into the afternoon. I've been riding on 30+ degree days and the water stays cold - you cannot ask for anything else in an Australian summer!!

I really love the valve setup on the bottle - it took a few goes to work it out having used only "bite valve" style bottles prior, but with the venting of air to the inside of the bottle via the internal tube, plus the size of the outlet, it's dead easy to drink from even in a climb where you huff and puff 😆

Well made and designed, I honestly thought it was going to get scratched up sliding in and out of a bottle cage but it's not. The only grip I do have is because of the size of the valve the dust and dirt gets into the valve really easily - a cap or something would solve that though.

Definitely sold on these bottles after a month - I use it everywhere too not just the bike - first bottle I've proper fallen in love with 🤣

Cheers to Mark and the team at Bivo for the best bottle I've ever sucked on 😆

Thank you for this wonderful review, Andrea! We are thrilled that your new bottle has preformed so well for you. It's amazing to hear you raced the RADL GRVL with your new bottle and loved it. We will pass your kind words along to Mark- he had such a blast at this event, especially the Budgie Smuggler ride! Cheers, Bivo team

I have bought 8 insulated Bivo's. Both the 21oz and the 17oz. The bottles are fantastic for keeping my water cold even in the FL sun. They fit great in my Blackburn cages and do rattle alittle but not too bad. The only problem I have with them are that we stop at Convience stores and buy Brisk tea and put in our bottles. The tea does stain the outside of the bottles. I have tried everything to scrub it off but nothing seems to budge the stain. I am sure it's the tea because I always put it in my 21oz bottle and it seems to have the stain. I do use Crystal light mango green tea water sticks in my bottles and they don't seem to stain them. All in all they are the best and I have convinced alot of my friends to get them.

Hi Sandy, thank you so much for your support of Bivo! We're pleased you're loving your bottles in the Florida heat. Cold tea for your rides sounds like a wonderful idea! Although, I'm sorry to hear you're seeing some stains from the tea. We will look into some options to fix this- please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you in the meantime! And thank you for spreading the Bivo love among your friends! Cheers, from Keaton at Bivo.

Keeps drinks cold for HOURS

Hi Tim! Thank you so much for the great review and awesome picture! We're so happy that you're loving your cold water throughout your mountain bike rides. Enjoy! -Team Bivo

Never write these, but I really like the bottle. I have used several times and it is easy to drink from while keeping water cold during ride. If you are gravel riding highly recommend the dirt cap, I got a lot of rock and dirt kickback on a recent ride (you can see some leftover dirt that I haven’t cleaned yet in the photo) but the cap works as expected. Plan to get a second larger one once I get another cage for longer rides.

Hi Graham! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a great review. We are so thrilled that you are loving your Bivo and appreciating the dirt cap! Cheers to staying hydrated on your rides, and we're always here if you ever need anything else! - The Bivo team

One, I’ve gotten 4, and why would you keep using plastic with that taste?? These taste so much nicer, even my sports drink are much better plus the way they work I actually drink more water when biking.

What a beautiful family of Bivos you have! Thank you for your support! We love providing a bottle to riders that DOESN'T taste like plastic, hooray! Enjoy, from the Bivo crew.

I have two 21 oz insulated Bivo bottles. Just received the 17 oz insulated Bivo bottle. I just returned home from a ten day bicycle ride across the state of New York! I used my two 21 oz insulated Bivos!!! It was so awesome to always have cold drink available!!! The bottles are amazing! A little bit of ice, drink mix and water was cold from the first drink to the last!!! I now have the dirt caps on all three bottles! Makes perfect bottles even better!!! Absolutely LOVE my Bivos!!!

Hi Ricky! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this fantastic review! We are thrilled that you loved your insulated Bivos on your huge ride across NY. Congrats on that accomplishment! Cold water is key on hot summer rides. Appreciate the great feedback and we hope you have a nice rest of your day. -Team Bivo

I received two insulated Bivo bottles a couple of weeks ago. I got both the Trio and the Trio Mini. I got different sizes so I could fit both onto my Trek Domane+ e-gravel bike as the frame does not allow for a full height bottle in the rear cage. I have used them now a few times and I'm very impressed with the flow rate and their ability to keep my hydration drink cold. However, I have not given them 5 stars. The reason being that both are black in colour and the coating is already scratched from putting them in and taking them out of the cages. Although the scratches are not very noticeable right now, I think this will quickly deteriorate over the next few months. A bit disappointing.

Hi Mark! Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback! We're glad to hear you love the flow rate and your bottle's insulation capabilities. We are sorry that you're disappointed with the scratching on your bottles. Unfortunately, this can happen due to the metal on metal of the cage and bottle, but some cages are better than others (check out our cage fit guide for our cage recommendations here https://drinkbivo.com/blogs/news/cage-fit). We find the RAW colored bottles don't tend to show scratches in the same way if that is appealing to you in the future! Thanks again for the feedback, we are always working on improving our silicone coating. Have a great day and stay hydrated out there!

Awesome product, wish I would have come up with the idea for this bottle. Live and ride in south Texas and these bottles have kept our water ice cold during our rides. Much better than any of the insulated plastic bottles we’ve tried. Shipping was fast, too.

Hey Alfonso, thank you for the kind words about your Bivos! We're so glad that your bottles keep your water ice cold in south Texas. Fast shipping and excellent customer service is what we're going for so it's great to hear that was your experience! Thanks for including those pictures, those really made us smile :)

Water bubbles at top straw seal. Left full bottle in vehicle cup holder and when I returned to the vehicle the cup holder had quite a lot of water.

Hi John, thanks for taking the time to share some feedback. I'm sorry to hear you had some leaking concerns with your bottle. This sounds pretty unusual, and this isn't what we want to happen for our customers, so we'd like to look into this and try and help. Would you please reach out to our customer service team (thirsty@drinkbivo.com) and share your concerns? Thanks very much and hope to resolve this for you soon! - Team Bivo

Nice quality but a bit noisy. Don’t fit in any of the 3 bottle cages that I have.

The insulation is good and I love that it has no plastic, but I do not recommend it for any sport other than cycling. I use it for rowing and it leaks when not in the upright position. It is hard to press the nozzle down to the point where it won’t leak, and even if you do, it won’t say if it’s in a bag getting hosted with other things.
